Google Wave user interface looks similar to Gmail. In the picture below, we opened the inbox to check the "waves" we have. To the right, we can click "New Wave" to start a new wave. The whole thing is written in Javascript which means you need a browser with good Javascript engine like Chrome or Safari to run it fast and stable.
A wave looks like this, pretty much a gmail conversation:
Joining a conversation is like community board posting, we can reply to any message from anyone. We can replay the conversation like we replay a music. Supposingly, we can even upload pictures and videos easily, but we couldn't get the image upload to work after trying for hours (bug?).
Google Waved started to shower some nasty bugs on us after repeated testing. First we met a dialog that never goes away.
Then we were prompted with this funny message to restart our browser: "This wave is experiencing some slight turbulence, and may explode, If you don't wanna explode, please re-open the wave. Some recent changes may not be saved."
I think there is still a lot of work to be done to make it Beta. Cross your fingers and wait for another 2 years. |
