Play some background music as you work? Music seems to be good for concentration on some jobs, but according to the job you are doing it can be good or it can not. Creative work: If you are doing creative work like designing, programming or something that it is not mechanical the best thing you can do is not to use any music. The only kind of music is the kind of music that it is related to the work you are doing. If for example you are designing 3D models for a Fantasy RPG you could use some epic music, but on the overall it is much better not to use any because your mind will always fly away to the theme of the music. Copywriting work: If you are copywriting or rewriting, which is not a creative work at all, classical music is the best choice. It is a kind of smooth music which is not going to distract you from your job and will make your work less boring. It is not recommended any kind of strong music like heavy metal because it will distract you too much from your work. Data entry: For data entry or any other kind of repetitive, monotonous and very boring job your best choice must be any kind of music you like a lot, the more the better. For this kind of jobs you do not need to be concentrated at all and all you got to do is mechanical so, music that appeals your mind will relieve you from this boredom a little bit and will be beneficial for your work, even if sometimes distracts you. Logical thinking: for work that requires logical thinking, you need something harmonic that resonates with your brain wave. For that purpose, classical and new age music are the choices. In movies or real life, we do know some scientists listen to Mozart while working on their research papers. De-stressing: After a hard day of work, Jazz is always good for relieving stress. Jazz is a music form that uses improvisation alot, that is intended to free the inner feelings of the artist. By listening to Jazz, it's easier to put down the aggravating thoughts that hang around in the mind.
There aren’t general rules about this topic because some people seem to be more reactive to music than others, but on the overall it depends on the kind of work you are doing. 9N8EKZJA8UHW
Having several windows at the same time is a feature which is very helpful in some cases, but in others is quite messy and may slow down our work.
For example we need to translate a document or we need to rewrite a text or whatever job that requires having 1 window to look at and another window to type in. We can split the screen to read from one and type in the other but this will make your work area much smaller. Another option is to have two or more monitors installed in the computer, but this is not available to everybody due to the expenses of a new monitor, a low end GPU which does not support two or more monitors or the lack of space in the desk we are working at.
The above monitors are really impressive and nice looking, but fear not, you won’t need to spend a fortune or to buy that kind of devices to make a proper multi-screen system. If you got a GPU with two or more connectors you can use more than one screen at the same time and it will boost your speed when writing. In the past, typing certificate is a must-have requirement for office or clerical work. Today, due to the use of common office productivity software which simplify much of an office work, typing is not an essential requirement compared to the proficiency in such software. Schools no longer provide typing lessons. Kids start to use computer without a proper typing training. It is sad to see professionals typing with two fingers.
Actually in all the common kinds of work we perform, we can't escape from typing: blogging, social networking, typing an email, document editing to chatting with friends on MSN. If you type twice as fast you can do twice the amount of work than what others can do. Typing speed is always a key factor to productivity and work efficiency.
Take the typing test below to see how fast you can type, and what you can do to improve. Choose the category you believe you belong to, and click "Start Typing Test", when a sentence appears in the middle text box, type exactly the same sentence in the text field below, then click "DONE". It's true that Windows users cannot live without free and open-source software. Each of them adds an additional functionality to the default windows installation. A home PC user is likely to have used these software more often than an office PC user, because most of these software are writen to cater for certain needs in home use. But they are yet to use them to perform more sophisticated tasks.Actually some free and open-source software are useful enough to be put into office use. But many office have not adopted the use of such software. It is always hampered by Corporate IT policies: Free, open-source software = quality not assured. To debunk such myth, here we have selected the best software to choose from. Not familiar with GPL licensing, think of possible copyright violation that might arises from the use of such software. A more in-depth understanding of GPL licensing is needed. Because nobody promotes and sells free and open-source software to them, as a result, they need to look for the software on the internet themselves. If you are an employer, think about the benefit when a simple cleanup using CCleaner to speed up Windows could provide a boost in employee productivity. It's time to discover and harness such an abundant and free IT resources on the internet. Here is a list of good-quality free and open-source software used by us. The details on how to use them effectively will be covered in future.

Have a nice day! Cheers, JF & Winson Know yourself first. Are you a beginner just starting out to use Microsoft Office? Or an intermediate/experienced user wanting to improve more on your productivity?
If you are a beginner, all those menus, toolbars and buttons could seem mind-boggling and intimidating to you. There is no need for you to learn the meaning of every item and all the advanced features in the beginning. The best thing is to immediately get started and learn the basic operations, the most handy features first, familiarize yourself with the interface and improve yourself gradually by practice and experience. Want to make your life easier and reduce your frustration when using Microsoft Office? Some users start by learning and using shortcuts immediately, but the improvement is marginal. To increase your productivity, first you must go back to the basics: prepare your work environment so that it is suitable for long hours of work. Here are the seven steps to do so.
"Why are you doing that again?" Seeing a colleague for the 3rd time, stopped typing, highlighted a line of words and clicked two buttons in a toolbar on top to italize and underline the line when he could have just pressed Ctrl + i + u when he needed the formatting and carried on typing, and pressed the keys again to return to the original formatting. He had no time to change this habit. |
